Our Coaching Approach is to Help You GROW

Here at CareerPreneur Partners, we believe that every person and every business is unique. What is defined as ‘success’ for one person or business may not be the same for another.

Our aim is to help you describe, define, develop, and deliver solutions that work for YOU and your authentic situation.

We do not believe there is one magic formula for success. For this reason, we will never assert that you can make a six-figure income, have a calendar full of clients, or provide lead generation tactics that are ‘guaranteed’ to work.

What we do is help you gain clarity and perspective around your goals. We actively listen and brainstorm with you to create vision, direction, and options for the actions you want to take to achieve your definition of success.

How We Help You Gain Clarity and Perspective…

Through reflection and insight, we help you identify your pain point(s) and guide you to execute a plan to disentangle these pains.

Our Coaching Approach…

Through a journey of self-discovery, we help you to define your values and goals in order to create a map of success. At CareerPreneur Partners, we use the GROW coaching model to guide you along this journey.

The GROW model is a guiding framework that facilitates your journey to success without providing any solid claims to one system or solution. Simply put, it helps define your GOAL, and where you are coming from (your REALITY). Next, together we chart the different routes, tools and OPTIONS available to help you reach your goal. Finally, we mentor you through the steps and actions you need to take to move your WAY FORWARD to successfully achieving your goal.

 GROW Model

The Steps in Our Coaching Approach…

GROW is essentially an acronym for Goal-Reality-Options-Way Forward. This model provides a four-step process to lead our brainstorming sessions with you. Our mission is to ensure that you leave our brainstorming sessions feeling empowered.

Step 1- Goal:  We agree on the topic of discussion and the goal of the session (or in some instances, the goal for your business). Using the SMART approach to goal setting, we will help walk you through how to create Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely goals.

Step 2- Reality: We actively listen and help you to explore your current situation. We facilitate your discovery of potential obstacles that may be holding you back, and help you pinpoint potential fears that could be standing in your way. This step helps clarify the situation.

Step 3- Options: Creative brainstorming really gets going! Together, we generate solutions to your pain points and evaluate every option and solution available. We examine the pros and cons for each option and help determine what action items are needed to reach your goal.

Step 4- Way Forward: We design a plan of action for goal achievement. In prior steps we called out obstacles and determined various options for moving forward; now you will commit to choosing the option that works best for you and for growing your business.

Our Commitment to You…

Our goal is to help seed new ways of thinking about your business and life so that it can grow. We want our approach to leave you feeling more empowered to lead the life and business you desire.

With the GROW model of coaching guiding our approach, we equip you with best practices and self-reflection processes that enable you to continue to develop your business and your life in a way that fits you and your personal definition of success.

Conquer Your Fear of Failure

One of the greatest fears that business owners face is the fear of failure.

At some point during the business planning process or operation, many entrepreneurs/mompreneurs/careerpreneurs battle a fear of not succeeding.  They let anxiety and second-guessing swoop in.

I’ve been there. Afraid .  Anxious.  Overwhelmed.

It’s natural.

Take comfort knowing that you are not alone.

Freeing yourself of fear is no simple thing, nor is it expected that you forge forward in your business without ever feeling it… but there are a couple of steps and reminders to help:

  1. Stay Focused on Your Goals.

YOUR business isn’t about what other people want.  Working for yourself means YOU are the one driving the ship and you have very specific objectives that you want to achieve.

Yes, you may have clients or customers to serve and lots of opinions tossed your way, but negative feedback or forceful input on the direction of your business should never persuade you to give up on your goals.

Making decisions and managing the load all alone can be overwhelming at times; so seek support when you need to, but ’stay the course’ and don’t get sidetracked by anxiety, negativity, or fear.

“You will never reach your destination if you stop to throw stones at every dog that barks.” – Winston Churchill

Let your passion drive you and your business forward.

  1. Keep It Realistic.

Chances of becoming an overnight success are not high, so give yourself permission to take things one day at a time, one step at a time.  I call this: slow burn.

Break down your long-term goals into more achievable, smaller steps that you can tackle each day, systematically, to keep yourself focused and progressing.

Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.” – Robert Collier

Contact us to help you develop and tackle a business action plan customized to your requirements and hurdles.

  1. Learn from your mistakes.

You may have days (even weeks or months) where you feel that everything you do is ‘one step forward, two steps back’…and that is ok so long as you don’t let it bring you down.

Unfortunate things will happen. How you handle times of adversity is what counts.

“There is no failure. Only feedback.” — Robert Allen.

In times of challenge, pick yourself back up and keep moving forward.  If doing this alone is a struggle, commission a cheerleader or coach who can support you through the process of analysis and progression.

Ultimately, FEAR has two meanings:  Forget Everything and Run…or Face Everything and Rise. The choice is yours!

Chin up – you’ve got this!  If you need a person in your corner, we are here to help!

What is a Careerpreneur?

Here at CareerPreneur Partners we believe that anyone can be a careerpreneur.

To us, careerpreneurs are passionate professionals from all industries who “proactively manage their career like an entrepreneur to make things happen” .  Often, but not always, careerpreneurs work for themselves as solopreneurs, mompreneurs, dadpreneurs, freelancers, and independent career pros!

These are the types of careerpreneurs that we partner with!

If you are an independent career professional (resume writer, career coach, interview coach, or LinkedIn strategist)…we know your business very well!

We started our own career practitioner ventures from scratch, growing from fledgling start-ups to flourishing career services.  Over the years we have connected, engaged, and collaborated with hundreds of career professionals throughout Canada and the United States…and mentored dozens of savvy career pros on day-to-day business challenges.

We remain active members of the careers community, honing our skills to support job seekers with their career management plans, while collaborating closely with our career colleagues.  If you are seeking advice on getting your career practice up and running – this is where we shine.

If you are an entrepreneur…we can relate!

Everything from how to: create a business plan, register a business, define a target market, develop a website, price services, use social media, brand your business, attract ‘right-fit’ clients, deliver stellar customer service, draw up agreements, manage staff, book-keep, and more.

People are always asking us “how did you start?”….”what should I do if?”….”can you recommend a strategy for ___?“.  And we sure can!

If you are a mompreneur…so are we!  Balancing the demands of a growing family with a growing business is something we have experienced first-hand and continue to manage daily.  We started our companies while expanding our families.  Juggling ‘work-from-home, kids-under-foot, client-and-business-issues’ is our thing!  We can confidently help you too.

We know what it takes to start, run, and manage a successful business in tandem with family/home stresses because we are doing it… every single day.

Finally, if you are an employed savvy professional, seeking career management tools or job search advice….we have just what you need!   Not all careerpreneurs work for themselves; many ‘own’ their careers in demanding and rewarding industry roles.

If you need resources to launch a job search or better manage your career path – we offer these services in our other respective businesses:  www.SkyeistheLimit.ca and www.CareerImpressions.ca . Visit us there to learn more.

When issues crop up you need answers fast …and searching the internet can be overwhelming.

Our goal is to provide careerpreneurs with convenient, confidential, and caring advice and guidance to increase productivity.
